Study Visit to the Rey Juan Carlos University (Spain)

From 2 to 6 October 2023, the Ukrainian and Moldovan teams of the international DEFEP Erasmus+ KA2 project “Distance education for future: best EU practices in response to the requests of modern higher education seekers and labour market” paid a study visit to the King Juan Carlos University in Madrid (Spain).

The main purpose of the visit was to study the experience of using screen arts (film, video) in the process of distance education.

The DEFEP project team at URJC, headed by coordinator Jorge de Latorre, prepared an extremely interesting and rich programme, during which the participants learned about

✔️ experience of organising distance education at URJC;

✔️ scientific and educational environment;

✔️ URJC in the context of distance learning development;

✔️ the specifics of synchronous and asynchronous learning;

✔️ methods of involvement in online classes;

✔️ the use of video resources for learning through the MOOC platform.

An extremely useful addition to the workshops and seminars was a visit to the International University of La Rioja (UNIR) – La Universidad en Internet, which is an exclusively online learning institution and a leader in the Spanish-speaking learning environment, and the URJC Centre for Learning Innovation and Digital Education, where video and film content for the learning process is created.

The project team expresses its sincere gratitude to Jorge de Latorre, Clare Cannon, Gabriel Alfaro and Ana Esther Santamaria for preparing and organising the visit and for their invaluable experience in implementing distance education, which the Ukrainian and Moldovan partner universities will implement under the project.
