KKNU team took part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Distance Education of the Future” within the DEFEP project

On October 13, 2025, representatives of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University took part in the first round of the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Distance Education of the Future: Experience of the DEFEP Project and Sustainable Development.” The event was hosted by Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University within the framework of the CBHE Erasmus+ project DEFEP (101083143).

The conference brought together representatives of higher education institutions to discuss the development of distance education based on European best practices and the needs of modern learners and the labour market. Opening remarks were delivered by the university leadership, highlighting the relevance of the DEFEP project for the modernisation of higher education.

A keynote presentation by the DEFEP Project Coordinator focused on the practical experience of implementing the project and outlined consistent steps from initial concept to tangible results in the field of distance education. This was followed by an active discussion session, during which participants exchanged views and addressed key questions related to project implementation.

The programme also included a thematic workshop dedicated to the integration of distance learning into second-cycle (master’s-level) educational programmes. Participants discussed practical challenges, implementation strategies, and institutional solutions based on real academic experience.

Participation in the conference enabled the KKNU team to engage in professional dialogue with DEFEP partners, exchange best practices, and contribute to discussions on the transformation of educational processes through digital technologies and innovative teaching approaches. The event marked an important milestone in advancing the objectives of the DEFEP project aimed at strengthening and modernising distance education in higher education institutions.
