On October 7–8, 2025, representatives of the DEFEP project team from V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University took part in the International Seminar “Development of an Inclusive Educational Environment Based on a Student-Centered Approach in Emergency Situations.”
The event was organised by the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the national team of experts on higher education reform within the EU Erasmus+ Programme.
The seminar focused on key aspects of inclusion and the creation of an inclusive educational environment based on a student-centered approach, particularly in emergency situations. Special attention was given to ensuring equal access to quality higher education for all participants in the educational process.
European experts shared their experience, current trends, and practical cases related to the implementation of inclusive education in higher education institutions. The topic generated active discussion among participants.
Many of the issues addressed during the seminar were directly relevant to the DEFEP project, including institutional development, regulatory frameworks, quality assurance and academic integrity, higher education standards, digital tools, and academic mobility. Participation in the event contributed to strengthening the KKNU team’s expertise in developing inclusive and resilient distance education models.
