KKNU team took part in the final stage of the DEFEP international conference on distance education

On October 16, 2025, the final stage of the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Distance Education for Future: DEFEP Experience and Sustainable Development” took place within the framework of the Erasmus+ CBHE KA2 DEFEP project.

The event was hosted by Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman and marked the conclusion of three years of intensive work aimed at advancing distance education as a sustainable and integral form of higher education aligned with labour market needs and learner expectations.

Representatives of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University joined colleagues from Ukrainian and European partner universities, researchers, international organisations, and public authorities to reflect on the key results of the DEFEP project. The conference programme focused on best practices, quality assurance, and innovative approaches to the development of digital and distance education, with special attention given to sustainability and adaptability in challenging contexts.

In his welcoming address, the Rector of KNEU emphasised the strategic role of distance education in preserving academic traditions and supporting the resilience of higher education institutions. Panel discussions, moderated by the project coordination team, provided a platform for sharing achievements, addressing challenges, and exploring future perspectives for distance education in Ukraine.

The conference concluded with a shared commitment to further cooperation and the development of practical recommendations aimed at strengthening digital education systems. Participation in the final conference stage allowed the KKNU team to contribute to the collective vision of inclusive, high-quality, and future-oriented distance education promoted by the DEFEP project.
